Endocrine Disruptors in PET Bottles

In this research paper my partners and I conduct an analysis of endocrine disrupting chemicals in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. We analyze three research papers to study the chemicals found in these bottles, the factors that cause chemicals to leach into the bottles, and the mechanisms as to which they may interact with receptors in our cells which may have effects in the human body. With the advent of more people becoming conscious consumers we decided to choose this as an area of research because plastic bottles, which are primarily made of PET, are one of the most abundant sources of clean water consumed in modern countries.
